The whole Bible is a book about God engaging with people & the world... We see this from beginning to end, God engaging with people & people engaging with him! In a very real sense we wouldn’t have the Scriptures if God had never engaged with people. This idea of engaging with God ranges from powerful life altering encounters with God to everyday participation with him in the world through love, obedience & faith.
Vision is less to do with plans, programmes & events & more to do with the perspective we live everyday with. True gospel vision colours every aspect of our lives & ables us to envision ourselves, one another & others through the eyes of God's grace.
One of the primary reasons God puts us in Christian community is that we learn to love one another as he has loved us. Christian fellowship is as much for our sanctification as our encouragement. Understanding this will help us greatly in maturing in the Christian life & community. To love Jesus himself means loving his church & loving his church means learning to love our Christian brothers & sisters in the local church we find ourselves in today.

This message was birthed while reading chapter one of Dietrich Bonhoeffer's Life Together a book well worth getting.
Church is not a place or meeting we go to once a week; it is something we are a part of everyday! Church is not the job of the pastor or clergy it’s the responsibility of every believer! Church is not something we turn up at it’s something we take with us everywhere we go. Church is not a building it's who we are together in Christ. Church is the movement Jesus promised to build.
Readings: Matthew 16:13-20; Ephesians 3:7-13
